The stumbling blocks to "comprehensive reform" of the parole system -- 821 temporary beds, for one -- will likely be steamrolled in the name of remembering Cheshire... Zakhor!

Defining 'Ethnic,' As In "Ethnic Paranoia"

Can 'ethnic' be used to refer to Jews? The Sun was for excluding Jews as ethnic before it was against it.

This comes on the heels, of course, of Sam Brownback's endorsement of a West Bank annexation plan.

How about a question at the next debate asking all the Republican candidates if they will denounce Brownback's position? Let's find out if Rudy will put his mouth where his money is.

As an aside, doesn't the phrase "ethnic panic" originally come from Wieseltier? (I recall Ron Rosenbaum inanely accusing Wieseltier of "second Holocaust denial" for daring to suggest with this phrase that there might be a price to pay for crying wolf about Ahmadinejad...)
