It seems to me that the more Republicans try to hang the mantle of "socialism" on Barack Obama, the more it establishes a mandate for "socialism" if he wins. If you know you're probably going to lose, why not call candidate Obama a timid, wishy-washy moderate and then insist that President Obama hold to his campaign themes?
