A Look at Tiger Woods's First Golf Course Design

Hard to evaluate until you've played it, but it looks interesting enough. Building a course in Dubai presents some interesting challenges and opportunities. The fact that any piece of property you have to work with is pretty much going to be flat desert means the architect is really going to have to use his or her imagination and imprint his creativity on the landscape. In other words it requires "the vision thing," which makes it a difficult assignment for a novice designer.

And there's the fact that environmentally speaking, a golf course in Dubai is to a links course in Scotland what a Hummer is to a bicycle. But I digress...
