Another Centenary

In 1908 Mark Twain helped to establish a public library in Redding, Connecticut, where he lived out the last years (which were markedly painful, through no fault of Redding's) of his extraordinary life at an estate called Stormfield (which, sounding suspiciously like a realtor, he once described as "the most out of the world and peaceful and tranquil and in every way satisfactory home I have had experience of in my life"). Redding's Mark Twain Library has established a blog to document and celebrate the centenary. On October 11 they're putting together a town-wide birthday party. Stop by if you're in the area.
